The Great Wall of China was built during the 17th century by the Chinese. The  reason for it tobe built was solely protection of its citizens from invasion threats from the nomadic tribes, Turks and Mongols. Nomadic tribes’ belonged to Manchuria. People of Mongolia who posed a threat on china were known as Xiongnu.

The Great Wall of China had many holes on the top through which the warriors were able to have a better view of the attacking enemy from outside. They could easily launch an assault from the top of wall by firing cannon balls and shooting arrows. Thousands of architects were involved during the building of the wall. Most of them had sacrificed their life for the welfare of the Chinese people. This wall successfully kept away many enemies for centuries.
